I will always be a forever fan of midi skirts! And a-line skirts for that matter. I find them universally flattering, which is why if you don't own a midi skirt yet, you absolutely must! This pretty sky blue midi skirt (it's vintage!) is worn with a cream blouse knotted at the waist and a camisole (is my guess) underneath. Is there anything more quintessentially French than a red striped Breton top? Me thinks not! Well..perhaps a beret, but apparently true French girls don't even wear them. I don't really care if it's slightly frowned upon in France, I love berets and will continue to rock them probably till I'm old1  Anyhow, this casual weekend French inspired outfit is so simple and cute. The trick with getting the right French look with these classic striped tops is to make sure your top isn't too fitted. There has to be an ease and casualness to the fit, more relaxed, but still...

Love this look! This is probably going to be filed in my wardrobe brain under "outfits to turn to over and over again when you want to look like you made an effort but you didn't" LOL.
