Shopkeeper Ponderings No. 3 / Reopening
Posted by RODELLEE BAS
We are finally reopening our studio & showroom and I wanted to share some progress photos and some shopkeeper ponderings about reopening. Nearly a year ago we had reopened our retail shop on SE 2nd Street after being closed for several months due to the lockdowns then by October of last year the brick & mortar with a café would be no longer. Since then I have taken my time to figure out what to do with the front of our space and to be perfectly honest, I really struggled to find inspiration and motivation to reopen the retail shop up until...

November Shop Scenes
Posted by ADORED VINTAGE
It's been quite awhile since we've done a Shop Scenes post here in the Journal, our last shop scenes was back in February PC (pre covid). Pre everything changing at a drop of a pin, every which way and what way. The biggest change to our retail store is we moved the Adored Vintage retail shop which you can read more about in this blog post. and our old retail location is now just our office/studio/atelier...though we will be doing appointment only shopping in our showroom (which we will be setting up after the holidays). SAFE, SANITIZED, SOCIAL DISTANCE SHOPPING Urbanite is over...

Our Retail Shop Is Moving & Other BIG News!
Posted by RODELLEE BAS
The year 2020 has been nothing short of changes and adaptions, so moving our retail shop doesn't feel all that monumental considering all the many different ups and downs we all have had to traverse this year (and there's still the election!) You see dear reader, to be quite honest, I am tired. This summer I officially entered my late 30s and I feel as if I have lost the patience and energy to constantly adapt and try to make things work when sometimes the best thing to do is hang up your straw hat and just face the brisk breeze letting...

AV Brick & Mortar Covid-19 Update
Posted by RODELLEE BAS
Some states are beginning to open back up around the country and certain counties in Oregon have been approved to move into Phase 1. Our county, Multnomah County, has not been approved for Phase 1 (we haven't even applied to be reviewed to be approved!) though some retail businesses previously closed are planning on reopening May 15th, tomorrow! Many retail shops in Portland are choosing to remain closed however, us included. There is so much conflicting information out right now and it is all so stressful and confusing. Our retail shop is quite small and currently I am not willing to invest...

February Shop Scenes at Adored Vintage
Posted by ADORED VINTAGE
Hello! Hello! C'est moi, Rodellee, owner and founder of Adored Vintage back again with another Shop Scenes post! This month has been a busy little month for us here at Adored Vintage so I'm glad I was able to squeeze in some photo taking at the shop this week. I've changed up the layout just a bit again because, truthfully, I get a bit bored with scenes and settings and I think changing up the shop often is a good way to ensure new energy flows in the space. Not to be too woo-woo or anything, but when things stay stagnant...

Saturday Shop Scenes at Adored Vintage
Posted by ADORED VINTAGE
Oh goodness, it's a brand spanking new year dearies and this is my very first blog post of a brand spanking new decade! I didn't really have any sort of plans on what to post, other than I felt like doing a blog post today of the happenings around the Adored Vintage brick & mortar shop here on a rainy, drizzly, grey January day. Maybe you're asking yourself how's our little vintage women's clothing boutique doing in Portland. Ahhh... time will tell. But so far, we're having a lot of fun as these photos may suggest. (Isn't this photo of me...

So Soon! Adored Vintage SOFT Opening!
Posted by ADORED VINTAGE
Time has been an interesting companion these past few months. In many ways it seems just like yesterday that I chanced upon the availability of our new shop location (it was in early August) then signed a lengthy lease... and then WHAM BAM WIPPITY WHOA my world kind of turned topsy turvy. Not a complaint, but goodness, I am facing this Saturday of our soft open with a glad heart and a giant sigh of relief that all the restless nights are coming to a close. Things will get back on schedule... you see I like schedules. I like lists. I...

Keep Calm & Carry On: A Brick & Mortar Update
Posted by RODELLEE BAS
If I were to tell you I've now reached Master Yoda Level at multitasking, I would not be lying to you, I wouldn't even feel like I was being facetious. As someone who is often quite hard and critical of herself I wanted to take this moment to pause and pat myself on the back because the amount of work, phone calls, and juggling of people, schedules, and budgets I have had to do (and will need to continue doing for the next several weeks) would crush most people. It would have crushed me 2 years ago. Every season that comes and...
